Directions for Logging into 
William Fleming Online Learning Resources

 

 

The following provides direction for student access to William Fleming Online Learning Resources for Study Island, PLATO, and Moodle.  Additionally, the location of materials by class is included below the login information by subject area, class, and teacher.

New Information for Students:

Student Work Now Available on 365!

Students, just to let you know that if you had work saved to the student drive (S: drive), this work in now available to you on Office 365.  Copies of your work have been saved to 365 so you can access them from home.


NOTE:  For whatever reason, some of the lessons will only work in Internet Explorer.  This is due to the version of Flash the lesson was originally written in.  If you have trouble logging in, try using another browser (e.g., Edge, Chrome, Internet Explorer, or Firefox.

Calculators
There have been quite a few students asking to borrow the IT-84 (yellow) calculators to complete their school work.  Please note that Texas Instruments is offering a free six-month subscription to computer software as well as a free app for Apple products.  Here is the link:

This can be used for students that need a calculator.




Study Island Login Instructions

  • Go to the RCPS webpage at http://rcps.info
  • Select Students and Web-Based Student Programs
  • Next choose Clever Portal
  • Choose Login with LDAP using your Roanoke City Schools login and password (same as your computer login.
  • Choose Study Island and the program will open.
  • Select the appropriate lesson to complete.

 

Should you have any problems with the login or finding lessons, please contact your school.

 

 



 

Courseware (Plato) Login Instructions

  • Go to https://login.edmentum.com/
  • Next enter rcps in the first line on the page.
  • Enter your User Name (This is the same as your computer user name).
  • Enter your password.  Your password is your student ID.
  • Click the green button “Log in to your Edmentum Account” to begin.

You will need to choose your class and then the assignments you wish to complete.

Should you have any problems with the login or finding lessons, please contact your school.

 

Note:  Student account logins functions one of the following ways.


When the Plato Log In Screen comes on:  https://login.edmentum.com

 

 

 Account Log in:       rcps
User name:      your school ID number
Password:    your school ID number

 

OR…

 

Account Log in:       rcps
User name:   normal student login

Password:    your school ID number


OR …

 
Student User Name is their computer username.  
The password for that account is their Student ID.  (Most new users)

Example:   
Username:  wflem456 
Password:   123456
 



OR … 

Student User Name is their Student ID.    
The password for that account is also their Student ID.   (Most previous uploaded users)

Audio Accommodations

If you are using PLATO, and require audio accommodations this is available.  
Below is a link on how to use our Reader Support in tutorials.  For Tests click the Tools option on the student player and then you can highlight and click the play icon for the test to read.

Moodle Login Instructions

  • Go to the RCPS webpage at http://rcps.info
  • Select Students and Web-Based Student Programs
  • Go to Moodlerooms Online Course Management System.
  • On the Moodle home page, go to the right side of the page and enter your User Name and Password.  (This is the same as your computer login.)
  • Navigate to your class by choosing your school level, High School or Middle School.
  • Then choose your school and the subject for your class.
  • You should now see a list of courses named by subject and teacher.
  • Any class you are already a member of, will appear on the left by clicking the three line menu.

 

  • To join a new course you may need an enrollment key to enter the class for the first time. Your teacher will need to provide you with the enrollment key.

All Fine Arts teachers will update teacher websites on the Fleming page. Students can request hard copies. Hard copy originals are located in my room, laid out on the desks. Whatever teacher is physically in the building will be able to make copies.

Here are the steps for enabling Flash in different browsers:
 
Chrome:
1. In your browser, click the "lock" icon found in the far left of the URL bar.
2. In the drop-down menu that appears, click "Site Settings".
3. In the new Settings page that appears, scroll down until you find "Flash", and switch its setting to "Allow".
4. Exit out of the Settings menu and refresh the page.
Note: Each time Chrome is accessed, these steps must be repeated.
 
Internet Explorer:
1. Click on the gear icon in the top right corner of the browser.
2. Go to "Manage Add-ons".
3. Make sure that the "Show" filter is set to "All add-ons".
4. Under "Toolbars and Extensions", find "Shockwave Flash Object" and right click to select "enable".
 
Firefox:
1. Click the missing flash object.
2. When a box appears asking to allow flash, select to "remember this decision" and click "allow".
OR
1. Click on the three horizontal stripes in the top right corner of the browser.
2. Select "Add-ons Manager".
3. Under Plugins, find Shockwave Flash and click "update now".
4. Restart the browser.
 
Microsoft Edge:
1. Open Microsoft Edge and go to login.edmentum.com and log into your account.
2. In your browser, click the "lock" icon found in the far left of the URL bar.
3. In the new window that appears, select "allow Adobe Flash" under "Website Permissions".
4. Refresh the page.
 
Safari:
1. Click the Safari tab in the top left of the tool bar.
2. Click "Preferences".
3. Under the Websites tab, check "Adobe Flash Player" under the "Plug-Ins" section of the right sidebar.
OR
1. Click the Safari tab in the top left of the tool bar.
2. Click "Preferences".
3. Go to the Security tab.
4. Make sure "enable Java Script" is checked.
5. Click on "Plug-in Settings" or "Manage Website Settings" (depending on your version of Safari) and check that Adobe Flash Player is allowed
