Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students:

Greetings Colonels!   It is my pleasure to welcome you to William Fleming High School for the 2017-2018 school year.  I look forward to this school year and to the opportunity to work with so many outstanding young people who will become part of the Colonel legacy of academic, athletic, and civic excellence.

On behalf of our faculty and staff, we hope you had a safe and enjoyable summer.  Our faculty, staff, and administrators are eager to provide students with an educational experience in a caring and positive school climate.  William Fleming High School students experienced great success this past school year.  We will increase our expectations utilizing the theme “Colonels R.I.S.E. – Respect, Invest, Support, Elevate.”

Business days to pay student fees will be Thursday, August 17, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Friday, August 18, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Student fees are $30 for 9th, 10th , and 11th graders, and $50 for 12th graders.  The fee covers the cost of student agendas, printing/postage for report cards, surveys, student handbooks, lockers, and some class activities.  It is recommended that fees be paid on an annual basis to avoid accumulating obligations over four years.  Students who wish to park on campus must purchase a parking pass.  The cost is $50 for the year.

Our annual Back-to-School Day will be Thursday, August 17, 2017, from 12 noon – 7 p.m.  At this time, students will be able to pick up their schedules and pay school fees.

All ninth grade parents and students or students who are new to William Fleming High School are invited to orientation on Friday, August 18, 2017, from 8:45 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.  Transportation will be provided.  During that time, you will have the opportunity to meet the teachers, visit classrooms, and take building tours.

The Back-to-School Extravaganza will take place Saturday, August 19, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. until 12 noon.  This event will take place in the cafeteria at William Fleming High School.

The first day of school is Tuesday, August 22, 2017.  Students are permitted to enter the building at

8:15 a.m., and school ends at 3:30 p.m.  Instruction for all students begins promptly at 8:40 a.m.

I look forward to another exciting year and truly believe that all of our students are anxiously awaiting a rewarding and challenging educational experience.

Colonel Pride!!
