Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students:
Greetings Colonels! It is my pleasure to welcome you to William Fleming High School for the 2016-2017 school year. I look forward to this school year and to the opportunity to work with so many outstanding young people who will become part of the Colonel legacy of academic, athletic, and civic excellence.
On behalf of our faculty and staff we hope you had a safe and enjoyable summer. Our faculty, staff, and administrators are eager to provide students an educational experience in a caring and positive school climate. William Fleming High School experienced great success this past school year. We will increase our expectations utilizing the theme “Be That Colonel....Participate, Dedicate, Graduate.”
Business Days to pay student fees are Friday, July 29th from 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM and Friday, August 5th from 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM. Student fees are $30.00. The fee covers the cost of student agenda, printing/postage for report cards, surveys, student handbooks, lockers, and some class activities. It is recommended that fees are paid on an annual basis to avoid accumulative cost at the end of four years. Student fees may also be paid during orientation.
Our Annual Back-to-School day will be Thursday, August 18th from 11 AM - 7 PM. At this time, Students are able to pick up their schedules and pay school fees.
All ninth grade parents and students or students new to William Fleming High School are invited to orientation Friday, August 19, 2016, at 8:45 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Transportation will be provided. During this time you will have the opportunity to meet the teachers, visit classrooms, and take building tours.
The Back-to-School Extravaganza will take place Saturday, August 20, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. until 12 noon. This event will take place in the cafeteria at William Fleming High School.
The first day of school is Monday, August 22, 2016. Students are permitted to enter the building at 8:15 a.m., and school ends at 3:30 p.m. Instruction for all students begins promptly at 8:40 a.m.
I look forward to another exciting year and truly believe that all of our students are anxiously awaiting a rewarding and challenging educational experience.
