Where I am from:
I was born in a northern Kentucky town called Fort Thomas which is just across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, Ohio. This means I'm a huge Cincinnati Bengals (football) and Reds (baseball) fan.
My dad has worked for UPS since he was 18. My mom went back to school while I was in high school to become a dental hygienist - she never let us have Mountain Dew in the house because "It rots your teeth!"
I have a brother and sister, they are twins. Aaron is currently living in Albuquerque, NM while working in the Air Force. Danielle works with GIS, think archeology, for a company in Cincinnati.
My high school was a tiny suburban public school called Beechwood HS. My graduating class had 74 kids. I played basketball and football for BHS. I have a state ring for a Class A football championship my sophomore year and I was a co-captain for our basketball team my senior year.
After HS I was accepted to Coastal Carolina University where I graduated with my English degree and was given the chance to study abroad in Japan at Nagoya University of Foreign Studies. After CCU my wife and I moved to Pittsburgh and I attended Duquesne University where I completed my Master's degree in English Lit. Since moving to Roanoke I went back to school at Mary Baldwin College to earn my teaching license.
