FREE FAFSA Assistance
he 2020-2021 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) will go live October 1, 2019.
The Financial Aid Office at Virginia Western will be hosting a series of Financial Aid Free for All events to support students and their parents with FAFSA completion. All students are welcome to walk-in for help, no matter what college they plan to attend. Staff are also happy to help students submit 2019-2020 FAFSAs (if needed) for students who plan to start college in spring or summer 2020.
Where: Virginia Western Community College, Webber Hall, 3rd Floor
When: Saturdays 9 am to 1 pm on 10/19, 11/16, 12/7, and 1/18

FAFSA completion assistance is free and open for all no matter where you plan on attending college. To complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), you and your parents (if you are a dependent will you will need to bring the following:
* Your social security number,
* Your Alien Registration Number (if you are not a U.S. Citizen),
* Your 2018 federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other records of money earned. (Note: You may be able to transfer your federal tax return information into your FAFSA using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool.),
* Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable),
* Records of untaxed income (if applicable), and
* An FSA ID to sign electronically.
